Privacy Policy
Effective September 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how BidSignal collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
- Identity and account information, such as your name and email address. Authentication credentials are processed securely by the authentication provider; BidSignal does not access or store plaintext passwords
- Company profile information, including company name, trades, territory, capacity, and scoring preferences
- User settings and notification preferences
- Uploaded ITBs and attachments, including PDFs and pasted email text
- Extracted project information, scores, and recommendations generated by the Service
- Usage data, such as the number of analyses performed and features used
- Device and browser data, such as IP address, browser type, and operating system
- Support communications, including emails and messages you send to us
2. Payment processing
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. BidSignal does not store complete card numbers. Stripe's privacy policy applies to your payment information, and you can review it at stripe.com.
3. How we use your information
- Operating your account and providing the Service
- Performing document analysis and generating recommendations
- Managing billing, subscriptions, and usage limits
- Maintaining security and preventing abuse
- Providing support and responding to inquiries
- Improving and developing the Service over time
4. Service providers
To operate the Service, we may share information with necessary service providers, which may include Base44, Stripe, hosting providers, email providers, and AI-processing providers. These providers process information on our behalf to deliver the Service and are bound by their own confidentiality and security obligations.
5. Uploaded documents
Uploaded documents may contain confidential business information. You must have the right and permission to upload them before doing so. BidSignal processes uploaded documents solely to provide the Service to you.
6. Data security
BidSignal maintains reasonable safeguards to protect your information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data retention and account deletion
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete your account through Settings, and we will remove your information in accordance with our retention practices and legal obligations.
Free-trial abuse prevention: to keep one free trial per person, BidSignal retains a non-readable, pseudonymized identifier derived from your verified email address using a secret key held only on our servers. Your email address itself is not stored for this purpose, the identifier cannot be read as an address, cannot be used to contact you, and cannot be reversed into your email address. It is used solely to prevent repeated free-trial abuse, it is never shown to other users or clients, and it is retained for 24 months from the start of the trial before being deleted automatically.
8. Cookies, local storage, and consent
The Service uses cookies and local storage for authentication, session management, and basic functionality. We do not use cookies to sell your personal information or to track you across third-party websites.
When you first visit BidSignal, a privacy banner asks whether you consent to nonessential analytics and optional session recordings. Your choice is stored in your browser so the banner does not appear on every page. Essential authentication and security functions remain active regardless of your choice. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the "Privacy choices" link in the footer.
9. Analytics and session recordings
BidSignal uses analytics to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve the product. Analytics may include aggregated page views, feature usage counts, and device or browser type. We use this information to identify trends, fix issues, and prioritize improvements.
With your explicit consent, BidSignal may also use session recordings — replays of your on-screen interactions — to identify usability problems. Session recordings help us see where visitors get stuck or confused so we can improve the interface.
Current status: BidSignal currently does not record visitor sessions. Session recordings are disabled, and no session-recording tool is connected. We will only enable session recordings after confirming that the recording tool can respect each visitor's consent choice. If a recording tool cannot technically prevent recording before consent, we will not enable it.
Sensitive information: Because session recording is inactive, BidSignal is not recording your on-screen interactions, form entries, uploaded documents, or other sensitive information. Authentication credentials are processed securely by the authentication provider; BidSignal does not access or store plaintext passwords.
10. Retention of analytics and recording data
Analytics information is generally retained for up to 30 days, consistent with our current service-provider plan. BidSignal does not independently store analytics data for longer than this period. Session recordings are currently disabled and no visitor sessions are recorded. You can request deletion of your analytics data by contacting us.
11. Legal disclosures
We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or government regulation, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of BidSignal, our users, or others.
12. United States processing
Your information is processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States.
13. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us.
14. Your choices and withdrawing consent
You can access, update, or request deletion of your information through the Service or by contacting us. You can manage notification preferences in Settings and cancel your subscription at any time.
To change or withdraw your consent to analytics and session recordings, click "Privacy choices" in the footer and select "Reject nonessential." Your new choice takes effect immediately and is stored in your browser. Essential authentication and security features continue to work regardless of your consent choice.
15. We do not sell your personal information
BidSignal does not sell your personal information to third parties.
16. Updates to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy in the Service and update the effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
